We celebrated Christmas day at Neil’s dad’s home in Stony Plain.  We were delightfully surprised when all his siblings (including his ‘adopted’ sister) and most of their children were there.    It was the first time we’d all been together for Christmas in over 6 years, and it was so much fun.  We played games, assembled a jigsaw puzzle (an old Thrussell tradition), chatted, and ate tons of good food.  I marvelled at how amazing our nephews and niece are – they are kind, loving, considerate, well-behaved, thoughtful human beings.  (Even though they range in age from 16 – 25, and that age group doesn’t exactly have a good reputation in our society.)

I wrote this list in April of 2009 and it is still relevant right now.  I want to know, as this year closes out, what are your dreams for 2010

I was reminded our current thoughts represent our potential future.  If we don’t change our thoughts, they become our future.  If we change our thoughts, then those NEW thoughts become our future.

Most of my friends are close to 50 years old or are 50 years old…  So why are we playing small?  Why are we letting our limiting beliefs get in our way?

MY lover, my brothers and my sister….  The time is now!  LET US DREAM!!!  DREAM BIGGER THAN WE HAVE EVER DREAMED BEFORE!!!!!

I want:

  • To star in personal growth movie.
  • To be a multi-book national best seller.
  • I want to be booked solid for our retreats for 6 months out of every year.
  • I want to travel the world for 2 months of the year.
  • I want to workshops for thousands.
  • I want to do retreats for hundreds
  • I want to have a commanding presence on stage
  • I want to truly embody and live “LOVE” (our teachings)
  • I want to be surrounded by loving caring people
  • I want to LIVE
  • I want to BE
  • I want to be the one celebrities / world leaders turn to for advice
  • I want to share the stage with world and spiritual leaders
  • I want to have so much fun that my last act will be laughter …  okay maybe it would be sex….  And at 104, we can laugh at my performance and then I can make the transition…
  • I want to be very well paid for my services and actions.
  • I want to create a philanthropic society to give stuff away, help those that need help.
  • I want change millions of peoples lives for the better.
  • I want to have fun..
  • I want to live in the tropics.
  • I want to live in the mountains.
  • I want to write.
  • I want to have a wonderful support network that helps me achieve and be more.
  • I want to empower people.
  • I want to have FUN. Did I say that before??
  • I want to do things that I haven’t even thought of yet!
  • I want to empower my brothers and sister to be more than they thought they could ever possibly be!
  • I want my friends and family to be ridiculously happy in life
  • I want people to be all they can be and fulfill all their heartfelt dreams.
  • I want to be on deserted island with my lover away from everything for a month.
  • I want to be the BEST I CAN B…

Yesterday, after the CBC radio interview, I headed to one of the malls to give away free hugs.  What fun!  I started with the staff on the floor at the Bay – those women who work so hard to keep the clothes folded and the shelves looking neat and tidy.  “May I offer you a hug for all the great work you’re doing?” I asked each of them.  The reactions were priceless.  Some smiled and threw open their arms with enthusiasm.  A few looked a little stunned at first, not sure if I was serious or not.  When they realized I meant it, they gratefully accepted the hug with, “Thank you!  I needed that!”

Then I wandered the aisles and if I saw someone notice my t-shirt and smile, I asked if they would like a hug.  “Sure!” they said and we embraced warmly.  One lady actually approached me.  She said, “oh!  I’ve heard about you!  I’m an ESL teacher and one of my students came to school last Monday saying he’d been given a hug by a lady downtown.  He was so excited!  This is just great.  How mucha re the t-shirts?”  I told her they eere just $20.00 and $10.00 ofh tat supports the Servants Anonymous Society of Calgary.  “I’ll take one!” she said.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have one with me to sell her, but I gave her a Hugs Card with the website information and she said she’d happily buy one on-line.  I

I walked away shaking my head and smiling.  What were the chances of running into someone who was impacted by our act of kindness on Dec 13th!?  How beautiful!

Hug someone today – you never know what impact you will have!
